I just wanted to pass along something that I highly recommend. For Brynlee's 2nd birthday, my mom bought her this "Letter Factory" DVD and also the fridge magnets that help her learn her letters and the sounds they make. Within the last couple of months she has been able to recognize ALL of the letters, and this is thanks to her magnets and her alphabet tub toys. She loves to take baths and we would go over them often. It was funny because for a long time there were several letters that she only knew them by the word it was associated with. For example "A" was Airplane, "F" was Frog, "P" was Panda Bear. It took her a little while, but she now can get the letter. Anyway, Brynlee occasionally plays with her leapster fridge magnets, but just recently has really liked watching her "Letter Factory" DVD. She has been watching it probably once a day for the past week and now I can ask her the sound for any letter and she knows it! I can't believe how fast she learned them. I'm not writing this to brag about Brynlee.....I just really think that Leap Frog has some great learning tools that really work. Brynlee is a real visual learner, so maybe it works better for her, but I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone! Tuesday, March 4, 2008

It's so funny that you posted this because we just got this dvd last week!! Ellie loves watching it too.
That is awesome that she knows all of her letters & sounds, brag away!! I have really got to work on those with Alexis. We have both the video and magnet toy, so I need to get them out more. I love leapfrog stuff!!
CUTE! I've never seen the DVD, but I can totally picture Brynlee saying her alphabet! She has such a sweet little girl voice!

Hey Tiff, we have the fridge magnets too with the little holder that you put them in & it makes their sounds & sings the alaphabet & stuff. Not sure if that's what you have too, but I totally agree that it helps them learn the alaphabet so fast. I got it right after Christmas & I swear it took Ava about 2 weeks to learn all the letters. She points them out now wherever we go - like Walmart is the "W grocery store" & "T store" is Target. It is fun to watch them learn so fast & in such a fun way!
We also love leap frog toys at our house.

Your little Brynlee really is a smart little girl. She does things that my three year old doesn't do yet.
I love Leap Frog!! Brooklynn has a couple of the magnet sets & loves them too. I haven't seen this DVD yet though. I'll definitely have to get it. Thanks for recommending it.
Hey Tiff, this is corntie pence/bigelow from high school! I saw your blog on Nicole's list and I HAD to sooo agree with you on the leapfrog stuff!! My now 4 1/2 yr old started watching them at 2 and LOVED them!! Along with the fridge magnets you can get the lower case letters and the word whammer!! They are so helpful!! He goes to preschool and at 4 1/2 is already reading!! The other leapfrog videos are FANTASTIC too!!!! I love the math dvd a ton!! get them all you won't be sorry :) Sorry for all the info that you probs didn't need to know, but I am such a crazy mom when it comes to teaching my kids and I have sworn by the leapfrog stuff for years..my now 2 yr old is totally into them too!! Tiff- this is ali (Kate and Nate's sister in law) I was just loving your little diet plan! Sometimes you do just need a little support. I actually did LA Weightloss and lost 50 lbs this past year. So if you stick to it, it really does work! Good luck. By the way your girlies are so beautiful~

Thanks for the review---it is always nice to know what things out there "really work". My babies are huge fans of the baby einstein dvds...but didn't know where to go from there. guess we'll start to invest in leap frog products pretty soon! thanks.
We got the letter factory DVD for Christmas and Jonah loves it too. I've had several people recommend it. Way to go Brynlee! I looked at your previous post about your eventful day....What a day! I'm exhausted reading it. Brynlee sounds so fun. I love the attitude she has, but I'm sure as her mom, you feel a little different =) Take care!
