My little Halle is now 6 months old. I can't believe how fast it has gone! Kindof makes me sad! Overall she has been a really good baby.

Here are several facts about Halle and reasons why I love her so much...
*She smiles at anything and everyone, and if I ever need a pick-me-up she is there to smile and give me one
*She is a very content child and doesn't require a ton of attention, which is nice when I need to get a few things done and can't be right with her
*She loves being on her belly! For a couple of months now, she has been able to roll from her back to her belly and this is where she likes to stay. She doesn't try to roll any more than that and now is able to make a full circle on her belly. In the past couple of days I have noticed her scooting just slightly forward also, so we may have an army crawler soon.
*She is almost sitting by herself, and does better some days than others.
*She has chubby cheeks and rolly polly thighs. She may be only in the 50th percentile, but she still has some decent chubs, and I love it!
*Her little ears stick out just slightly!
*She has hair!!!! Now I'm sure some of you are questioning this, BUT she definitely has more than her sister did and it is getting pretty long right in the front. I am predicting that I might have to even things out in the future. :)

Halle LOVES her jumper, and just bounces like crazy the whole time she is in it! She also slobbers like crazy so she is usually wearing a bib while bouncing!

As you can see from the dress, Halle has been drooling like no other lately. She doesn't show any sign of teeth, but man can she drench herself. Brynlee didn't get any teeth until 10 months, so I just assumed that Halle would be the same, but she is definitely showing signs of sprouting some a little earlier!

Here are Halle's Stats for 6 months
*16 lbs 2 oz
*26 inches long
*Head size 44.4 cm
The Dr told me she was in the 50th Percentile for height and weight, and that her head was a little bigger than that! He didn't give me a percentile, but I think she kind of has a big noggin!! :)

So here is my frustrations with this little kiddo! She has been a TERRIBLE EATER!!! So she started out pretty good and every so often she would fight me to nurse. It would get to the point that I would about give up, and then she would start to do well again and we would continue on. Well lately it has all gone down hill. Some days she will just totally refuse to eat, and I have no idea why. She gives me the cues that she is hungry, but then she arches her back and refuses! It has been SOOOO FRUSTRATING! So my body hasn't known what to do cuz some days it will be every 3 hours and other days she will go 5 and 6 hours between feedings. I have read baby wise and have really tried to follow what it says, but what do you do when you have a really stubborn baby!?! So the last couple of days I decided that I would be done nursing, and have tried the bottle. It is kind of the same....sometimes she wants it, other times she doesn't and just spits out the milk. I bought a couple new sippy cups and tried that yesterday, and she seemed to like it, but she was taking like 45 minutes to drink 4 oz! I can't seem to get her on a good nap, or eating schedule and it is driving me nuts. If anyone has any suggestions, please pass them on! It is also frustrating because she was sleeping through the night at about 2 months, and is now waking up to eat. A part of me thinks it is because she doesn't eat well through the day, and the other part thinks she has just made a habit of it, and really doesn't need to eat. She is such a sweet baby, and I love her soooo much, but this has definitely been frustrating for me lately!

Hey Tiff!
Have you asked the doc about reflux? Ani arched her back and started not eating at around 5 mo. then the doctor put her on some meds and she sarted eating again. I don't know...might be worth checking out!
I can't believe she's 6 months old already, crazy! The picture of her smiling in her red dress is a total Tiff face, too funny cause I haven't been able to really tell who she looks like yet but that is so you in that picture. The whole eating thing sounds super frusturating, good luck with that all.
Pretty pretty girls!!!
So reading your comments about Halle not eating brought back so many thoughts with Ava at the exact same age. I stopped nursing her right around six months b/c she was doing the same things (arch/cry/fuss/act hungry/not eat/etc.) Looking back I think my body was not producing enough milk & she was basically always hungry. But Ava didn't like the taste of formula that much, it took her forever to drink & at first threw up most of it. I ended up mixing a couple Tbl. of gerber baby juice in with each bottle to get her to drink it & that worked for us - she started gulping the stuff down. Also I switched back to slower flow bottle nipples so she wouldn't get as much air & that helped with her keeping the formula down. I always made sure she got a good burp out too before I put her down to keep any gas out of her belly. Another option is to try soy formula. I've had a lot of people tell me that babies take to it & keep it down alot better than reg. Hopefully, you can figure out something that will work for you! It just goes to show you how different each child can be & just when you've got it figured out with one - then another one comes & throws you for a loop again. Not looking forward to that!!!! Good luck.
PS - I love chubby cheeks & sticky-out ears cause Ava has both! (thanks to me) When their cheeks are so chubby it just reminds you more to give those babies lots of kisses I think. :)
Your girls are so cute!! I think your baby looks just like you! I can't believe how much she has grown. But 16 lbs is still so tinny! Sorry about the eating thing. Just keep trying things, and see what works best for you. It looks like you have gotten some really good advice already! Good luck
Jill
I love chubs, too. Good luck with Halle. I think the other Emily had some good advice.
