Losing the Chub...

Well......trying!

So myself and some very close friends of mine have started a little support group to try and help eachother lose some weight. It started out with us going to try the 6 week body makeover together, which we then decided that we were going to name our little group and start a website. After a lot of funny emails and contemplating on a name, we named ourselves and had a website set up that only MEMBERS can access. I am now a member of the FIERCE PINK PIGLETS....hehe!!! I will not divulge any of the other members, but it has turned out to be a lot of fun. We have weekly weigh in's where we have to post our weight and then throughout the week we post goals, tips, recipes etc... We post when we have cheated, or when had good or bad days. Needless to say, none of us lasted long with the 6 week body makeover because it really wasn't realistic, but we are all pretty much following LA weight loss. They have all been members at one time or another, and have passed on their knowledge to me. It has been a great help! I have been getting to the gym a lot more often, which is not the easiest thing with two kids (one who can't go to the kids club), but we have been making it work and I have been trying hard.

I really struggled to lose the weight after I had Brynlee and had several extra pounds when I got pregnant with Halle. I told myself this time I REALLY had to lose the weight for my own sanity! I'm just sick of being self conscious about the way I look and hopefully this time I am going to do something about it. The first week I lost 3 lbs, so I was excited about that! I'm just hoping to continue to lose and reach my goals.

I saw this posted on another friend of mine's blog, and thought it was interesting. I know I have had a few things on this list and will think twice about them the next time around. This came from Men's Health Magazine.

Good for you!! Good luck on your endeavor. It can be such a battle but hopefully looking at your two beautiful little girls makes it worth it!! Something that has really helped both Vaughn and I is switching to whole wheat with almost everything.

I love the list you gave. ALthough, when I got to the worst nachos I had to wonder if they considered Beto's Super Nachos. :)

O.K. you have seen me (very few of my "pre baby" friends have due to my horrilbe feelings about the baby weight) and you KNOW that I am right there with you on the whole weight insecurities thing. I am seriously desperate! Any tips that you can give me would be AWESOME!

Tiffany,
You're beautiful. I am really sad to see that Outback cheese fries with ranch are the worst thing on that list. I love those things. Good luck with this. I should probably start to be a little bit more worried about the weight I've gained.

Way to go! It is so cool to have a little "support" along the way! Health and fitness are awesome because it just makes ya FEEL so good (and the "look good" result is pretty sweet too! :) I also have to say that you are so incredibly talented and blessed and are WAY harder on yourself! Trust me, when people see you they see someone with a beautiful voice, sassy wardrobe, willingness to serve, adorable girls and great husband! they are not seein the extra lbs you see...infact, it is invisible to us who know you because we're too busy admiring your other AMAZING qualities! xoxo

ps...and the list...DANG IT! I was feeling pretty good as I read through because I don't think I have eaten (or would even enjoy) any of those foods...UNTIL I reached the bottom....#2 (and one of the WORST) the onion blossom! I *love* those! DANG IT!

That's awesome Tiff! I don't know that I would ever make it to the gym if I couldn't take both of my kids to the day care place. I'm proud of you! You look amazing already, but if it's something you really want to acheive - go for it! As for your comment on my blog about threading a sewing machine, I kinda cheated:) I used my sister's little hand-held sewing machine that you really don't have to thread. Otherwise, I would have had some serious troubles:)

That is really sad about that list of foods. I think I will just pretend I never read it! :) Kudos on your persistence at the gym. I always feel like I am so much better off health wise/sanity wise if I can get in some sort of exercise.

I love your little club. So funny. BTW I don't see Cafe rio on this list anywhere. That is good news.

K-I know EXACTLY how you are feeling. I have been in the same situation with the weight gain. First was nursing school. After I graduated I didn't have time to get the weight off before I was pregnant and I found out I was prego again when my first was only 4 months old making them 12 months apart. So I have been overweight for 3 years now and I am sick of it too! I can totally relate when you say you feel self conscious about the way you look. I hated seeing people who I knew before the weight. Sorry to go on and on, but I am right there with you. Like, Joc said, any advice would be appreciated. At least we are doing it together :)Keep up your hard work; it will all pay off in the end.

Darn it- I love the worst dessert from Chili's!!! That is my favorite. NO MORE!
I wish I had the will power to stop eating like I did when I was prego, but no. . it's not happening. I need to firm up- it's ridiculous.
How fun that you have people to help you stay motivated- what a great idea! Good Luck, but I can't ever imagine you being out of shape. You were always in great shape when we lived together.

Tiff I am so impressed! You have always been the one who has had such discipline so I know you will be able to do whatever you put your mind to. I agree with everyone else in that you look so good! I completely understand the 'last stubborn pounds' though so good luck and let me know how it goes. I think you're amazing and will be asking for your workout schedule to put on my fridge for admiring purposes only. :) Love ya!
