...I THINK I'M ADDICTED TO READING!!!

The last few months I have done a lot of reading. The ones I can think of right now, that I have read are, Twilight Series, A Child Called IT, The Lost Boy, Night, The Glass Castle, A Thousand Splendid Suns, The Kite Runner, and I am on the 4th book of the Harry Potter Series. I don't know why, but I love to have a book to read at night before I go to bed. It does keep me up later than I should be up, but it helps my mind to wind down so I can fall asleep. I have been using the library for most of these books, but I couldn't wait for Breaking Dawn. I was #83 on the waiting list and I didn't want to wait that long. For me it was one of those books that I was sad it was over. I am not one that obsesses over the series or Edward, but they were very entertaining and easy to read, and that is what I like. The Harry Potter books are good and entertaining, but not ones that I can't put down. Anyway, for someone who used to read about a book a year, I am proud of myself and really glad that I have learned to like it! Are any of you out there reading a good book that you would recommend?? Let me know! Also.....if any of you have some kids books that you would recommend for a 3 year old then let me know. I am clueless when it comes to books for my kids, but I want to read to them more. Please....pass along your knowledge!
Also, I have started making a book of my blog, so I am going to try to write and post more often. I figure it is going to be my scrapbook and journal all in one, so I will try to post fun things my kids say and a few more words along with pictures.
Blurb.com....check it out!
A few funny things Brynlee has said lately...
"That is so crazy mom"....and then "That is so freakin crazy!" I don't know what she was talking about, but it made me laugh. She has been using the word "freakin" a lot lately and I'm pretty sure it's my fault!
My mom asked her to carry her keys for her and she said, "Of course I will Mimi!"
Also, in Idaho my mom was putting Halle and Brynlee down for a nap in the basement. Brynlee had to run upstairs for something and came back down with a look of concern on her face. She had her arms out and was raising shoulders and said to my mom, "Mimi, I'm SO FRUSTRATED because the dogs won't stay upstairs!"
It cracks me up because she has really been talking like a grown up lately. Oh the funny things they say!

My 3 year old has been loving reading old school stories like the three bears and the three little pigs. There are hundreds of diffierent versions but the classics are what he likes. We read them over and over and then tell him them at bedtime in our own version, it's fun. He also loves the three billy goats gruff. It's fun becuase he will actually sit down and read a longer book, which with his energy is suprising. I'm jealous you've read the last in the Twilight series. . .lucky!
DEJA
That is so cute. I love the things that your little Brynlee is saying. Sometimes I just laugh when I hear my kids talking. Just last night Crew tripped and I heard him say "Gosh dang it". I seriously laughed for 30 min. Kids are great.
WOW! That is an impressive summer reading list girl! :)As far as kids books go...my kids LOVE books with a repetitive, predictable nature, like green eggs and ham, and go dog go. They love these books because they can "read" them based on the pictures (and umm...the sheer NUMBER of times they've been read haha). We also love the books by Saxton Freymann and Joost Elffers...look them up, they are the books where the photos are made from different kinds of fruits and vegtables. They will sit and look at these books for HOURS! And finally we also love Leo Lionni, simple and fun illustrations, classic stories with good morals! have fun! also...hows the blurb book coming? I seem to be so SLOW at getting it together! tips?
Wow, I am impressed. I have always wished I was a better reader. Anneka has really enjoyed those Twilight Series. I know I would, I just need to do it, you have inspired me to get started. Tiffany you should join our Book Club. It is a fun GNO. Plus it is fun to get out and chat and eat yummy food.
