WHAT A WEEK...

We had a fun and eventful Thanksgiving this year. We traveled to Kansas City because my brother lives there (going to dental school) and my sister lives in St. Louis, which is about 4 hours away. We did the same thing last year and really had a good time. We have some really good friends there named Butch and Tricia Slack and their house was kind of our home away from home when we lived there. It has been the same for my brother now and for my sister when she lived in Kansas City. They are such awesome people and took very good care of us when we were there. Anyway, last year we had dinner at their house and decided this year to scratch the cooking and cleaning, and we went to the National Country Club for Thanksgiving dinner. (Don't worry, we still cooked a turkey so we could have left-overs)! The meal was awesome and our best friends Court and Britt joined us with their two little girls. We had so much fun spending time with family and friends! Now...this was all the upside to the trip. The downside was that Brynlee got REALLY sick while we were there. Luckily we got these pictures taken at the first of our trip, or they wouldn't have happened. We laid her down for a nap on Tues before Thanksgiving and she woke up with a fever, and it all went down hill from there. She had a fever for 6 days straight and produced more snot then I thought possible. She had absolutely no energy and honestly the only two things she said the whole time we were there was "I got boogers" and " I want daddy"! SHE WANTED NOTHING TO DO WITH ME!! That made me feel real great.....NOT! Anyway, it was the sickest she has ever been and it was really sad. I was really looking forward to her playing with Court and Britt's girls and her cousins, but she didn't do any playing. The crazy thing is that last year my WHOLE family got sick with a 24 hour flu bug, so now I just associate Thanksgiving with sickness. Hopefully next year will be different!
I just want to tell you how awesome of a husband I have. He was seriously at Brynlee's side all day long, and probably held her about 12 hours a day. They definitely have a special bond. I felt bad for him, but she wouldn't let me relieve him. I was just very grateful he was there!
Sorry for the novel....hope you all had a great Turkey Day!

I've had sick kids too! I can't seem to keep Maicyn healthy! I'm so sorry that happened to Brynlee over the holiday, but I'm glad she is feeling better now--we're keeping our fingers crossed that they are all healthy for Christmas.

That's so fun you were able to go out to Kansas City and spend Thanksgiving with your family. I feel bad Brynlee got soo sick, that's the absolute worse.

Does your mom buy/coordinate all of the grandkid outfits, it looks so cute with all of them together. I'm assuming that's Nate's new baby??? That's exciting!

We can't wait to see you guys at Christmas!

Great pictures! I'm so glad we got to see you guys, although I would have enjoyed a lot more time, but life doesn't always permit. I'm glad you made it home safely and I hope Brynlee is back to herself. We just got done having the flu--all four of us! It was the worst 3 days of my life. It was a bad bug that made us all throw-up and more. Hopefully both of our families are done with sicknesses for a while. Have fun getting ready for Christmas!

Those pictures really did turn out so cute!! I need to take the girls to that place.

I'm glad to hear that Brynlee is doing better!! But that sucks that you and Dave are sick now. Pink eye? That is weird!! I hope that you both feel better soon.

Saturday we made plans to have friends over for the first time in forever and the girls got sick that night so we had to cancel. Then last night they were both sick still, throwing up, and I had contractions for 3 hours straight. We packed our hospital bag and then the contractions stopped. I guess it is a good thing because I would hate to be in labor worrying about the girls sick at someone's house!!

Anyway, I don't know what is going on because everyone I know is sick with something!! I hope that you guys feel better soon!!

What darling pictures of all the cousins!!!! Such a cute, cute bunch! I love all the coordinating outfits...anyone with kids knows that it's nothing short of a miracle to get all of them dressed and happy for at least one picture...good job!! Hope Brynlee is feeling better.

The outfits are adorable, sad Brynlee was so sick. Carter had bronchitis over Thanksgiving. So much sickness going around.
