OH HALLE RAE RAE...

(can you tell Sophie is tired in this picture? Gosh...I took about 10 pictures and this was the best one. Oh rae rae!)
Man my 3 year old is quite the little character. So often she makes me laugh, but then makes me want to pull my hair out a bit too! There are times that you will call her name and she will turn and look at you with her eyes totally crossed and say "What?". Such a goof! She also has a slight listening problem that I am trying to nick in the butt (or is it budd? Geez I should at least know what the saying is before I try to quote it! :)) She has her father wrapped TIGHTLY round her little finger so she tends to get away with a little more than she should. They spend a lot of time together and are the bestest of friends. Her eating habits are getting a little better but I think it will be a life long issue. She will try just about anything now, but it is getting her to take bites and finish her meal that is the problem. She wants a circle sandwich (pb&j on one of the whole wheat thin buns) every day for lunch. Although she is having pb&j I feel good about the fact that the bread is healthy. I took her in for her 3 year well check (when she was 3.5) and she weighs 31lbs which is 33% and is about 55% for her height. She is definitely our little skinny minney!
This has been Halle's new little hobby. She loves to sit down and write out names. We go through pretty much the whole family and she loves to practice her letters. If you ask me, I think she does a pretty good job...but I'm her mom of course! Dave and I have had many conversations on what we will do with Halle when it comes to school. Halle's bday is Sept 9th, which means she technically has 2 more years of preschool before she starts kindergarten. She will be one of the very oldest in her class. Although I know she will definitely be ready for kindergarten after next year I like the fact that she will be older in her class. Dave has a different opinion and thinks we should try to get her in after next year. Have any of you ever dealt with this dilemma? I'd love to hear your opinion if so. I just think that she will like being older (because I was) cuz she will be first to drive, first to date and just kindof be a step ahead being the oldest. I guess we still have another year to figure it out. We sure love our little Hal!

Your girls are soo cute! Taylor is the same way in school since her birthday was just a month shy of the cutoff. I really thought she could have been ready last year but thinks it is great now that she is older and starting! I think you want to put them in asap but sometimes its nice to have them be a little older! P.S how is brynlee liking GWA?? Im hoping taylor gets in for kindergarten!

Elizabeth's birthday is Sep. 10th. So we went through the same thing. But we waited another year and I am very glad we did. She is the oldest in the class, and along with that, she gets to be the smartest, and things just come so much easier for her. (I don't mean that in a snotty way, but when they are older they do a little better I think) Alexis we had to work with for hours every day on her reading and hours on her tests she was going to take, and Elizabeth just knows it and gets it. She always gets 100 on her test ans we don't have to go over it with her again and again. (It has been really nice).
So anyway, that is my advice, I would wait because having on that is the youngest and one that is the oldest, I have liked the results of the oldest better. (Plus she has a lot of confidence being older also)

Same here! :) Brin's b-day was the day after the cut-off day for school, and she is one of the oldest in her class. She is doing GREAT! She feels so good being able to read well and help her teacher with reading stuff. Plus the maturity thing is great too. I think it will be so nice not to have to fight the age battle at ALL when she is in high school. There's my two-bits. :) She is such a cutie, though, Tiff!

Hey Tiff..just saw your blog thru Sadies. Our little boy's birthday is Nov 21 and he too is only 31 pounds. We are in the same boat with his birthday, he misses the cut off and wont be able to start for two years unless we send him to private school. He is already trying to read and write as well. I think for him since he is a boy and small it will be okay to be the oldest in his class as I wouldnt want him to be the smallest playing sports, etc. However, I was the very youngest in our class. Nov 29 (me and Chels are almost an entire year apart). I didn't mind being the youngest except that I was the last to drive. Also the 16 rule for dating would of sucked. Luckily my parents did it based on my grade instead :) Good luck with what you decide. I will say that it was nice to be done with a year of college and only be 18.

Tiff...I think Halle needs to go to school when Easton does. I don't think anyone would tell she was the youngest (except for her size!) cause she's so dang smart!! And for selfish reasons...cause I want her to go to school with Easton! And in high school...she'll be dating Easton anyways...and she can go on group dates...although I like the comment above about basing it on grade! And Easton will be driving her around too..so driving isn't an issue!! She'll be WAY to bored if you wait...just my opinion!!!
