This has seriously been such a fun Olympics to watch. Was that relay race not totally freakin amazing!!!!! I had major goose bumps! Dave and I have really been enjoying watching every night. Seriously...what did I ever do without a DVR! It is awesome because we just fastforward through each recording and watch what we want to and then delete it. This way we don't miss anything that is worth watching! The Americans are sure representing us well! 
Joshua!!!!???? I have to admit...I was a little disappointed. Not that Joshua wasn't a great dancer, but I just felt like he was pretty forgettable. Out of the top 4 that were chosen, Katee was definitely the most qualified to win. But, when it came down to Josh or Twitch, I would have chosen Twitch. To be honest, I think Will should have won the whole thing! But hey...what do I know...right! I have to admit that my opinion of the show changed a bit after traveling to Dallas with my mom and sister for a SoulEscape dance workshop. This was the Dallas trip that I mentioned in my last post. My mom took my sister to this workshop and didn't have anyone to go with her. Sadie was dancing pretty much all day long, so my mom wanted someone to play with.......I was happy to volunteer!! Although it took some time to work out the babysitting situation.....(that's right...I went BY MYSELF)....I took off for Dallas for 5 days and 4 nights. (I have never left Halle before, and only left Brynlee for 2 days once) It was sad to say goodbye, but I definitely needed it. We stayed at the nice W Hotel right downtown and had a lot of fun. My mom and I shopped...slept in...ate...swam...and had a great time! It was dang humid but we were tough! :) I didn't take my camera though and trying to track down a picture from my sister has proven to be a little tough. Anyway, it was sooo much fun...as it always is spending time with my mom!

(Now back to why my opinion changed) So there were several SYTYCD people at this workshop. Sadie was taught by Natalie (remember Katee's friend who didn't get into the top 20), and she had class with Matt, Thayne, Chris, and Chelsie. So after talking to some of these people, she was told that the show is pretty rigged. (Don't shoot the messenger, but this is what they told her) One big thing is that Courtney and Kerrington were cut in Vegas, but then brought back because they needed cute girls. They were also told that Will was cut when it came down between him and Mark because they couldn't have 3 african americans in the top 3. Not 100% that this is true, but pretty interesting just the same. I will definitely continue to watch the show, but it definitely gives it a little different perspective!

Sounds like such a fun trip! I think every mom needs a break every once and a while! And I am glad you FINALLY got yours! That is crazy that you have only gotten away one other time for two days!!! I also have to agree on the DVR, they are fantastic! Ours is full of Super Why and all sorts of kid shows, but when we have a show we like... we have to record it or we would never get to watch it.
I am glad you had a great trip with your family, and hope you can get some pictures from your sister for us to see.

WOW! I have thought that for the last three seasons. They keep cutting really good dancers! How frustrating! I will probably still watch the show as well! :D Can't help it!

Dallas is great...Adrian and I talk about moving there at least once a month. He's from Big D. I'll go anywhere, just get me outa Missouri!
As far as the dance thing, I think it's great that Sadie is talking to industry insiders...on one hand they are right...the whole industry is a crap shoot, very political and tons of hype...BUT, there are also many jaded people out there who have nothing encouraging to say, and who's to say she can't make it on the show! I'm sure the cameras would love Sadie, she should go for it!
OH! And I DID see that amazing dance, one of the last ones maybe? Maybe I'm just pregnant, but I cried all over the sofa pillows.
Hey, Tiff! I would definitely have to agree that Katee should have won... there was not ONE dance of hers that I didn't like. But, I was excited for Josh. That kid could JUMP!!! I'll definitely always be a fan... no matter how rigged it is! By the way... YOU should be on it! You're an awesome dancer!
Okay I couldn't agree with you more! seriously I could've written the exact same post word for word EXCEPT Im not in love with Will like you are...he's a good dancer but I felt like the most versatile guy dancer was mark he did the most genres well..and Will was a little too cocky for me! but I soo totally wanted Katee to win she was unreal! Thats annoying if what your sis heard was true! although all the dancers that were at her thing were all my least favs so hmmm can we say maybe a little bitter?? and the olympics FOR REALS!!! Michael phelps freakin rocks my world! Josh and I do the same we DVR the olympics then just watch them each night! LOVE IT! I love when other peeps like the same shows I do! FINALLY someone to chat with about them!! NONE of my g-friends watched SYTYCD and have missed much of the olympics! My other fav show is PROJECT RUNWAY!! love it!! thanks for the opportunity to chat! hehe!
oooohhh, that's pretty interestind dirt about SYTYCD...I love dirt! Seriously, I said the same thing...Joshua? We actually didn't get to see the finally because we had so many shows recorded that we fell behind. So behind, that the Olympics came and started recording and ended up automatically erasing everything! Yes, so sad, I even lost a weeks worth of General Hospital! Thank goodness I watched Gossip Girl the night before! Anyway, yahoo that you got a little trip for yourself! Every mom needs that! You come back feeling revived to be a good mom again.
I hate hearing that stuff, but you know it happens. If you watch closely at the end of those shows, there's a disclaimer that says something like producers can change outcomes. I actually wanted Joshua to win. It was nice to see a non-trained dancer win. I thought he was pretty amazing considering that he had no technical training. But I only wanted him to win after Chelsie was eliminated. She was my favorite by far. I thought she was okay, until the middle of the season when I realized she was a ballroom dancer and not a contemporary dancer. She was very versatile for the training she had. Sorry about the novel.
Hey Tiff! So fun that you got to go on a little vacation, sounds like a good get-away! As for the car seat, we ended up getting Ellie the Britax Frontier. We took her and had her sit in a few of them and this one was the winner all around. It has great safety reviews, felt the sturdiest, it's really comfy, and it has cup holders!!! I'm all about user-friendly products! We previously had her in the Britax Marathon, so we just bought a new cover and we'll put Chase in that one. It works out perfect. Good luck with your search!!
My sister loves that show! I really need to sit down and watch the Olympics I love the adrenaline rush it gives you! Brynlee looks so adorable in her little goggles...every time Dresden sees her on my computer she repeats her name over an over..the girls just love her. she is such a cute, smart little thing. What a fun get away, we all need to hang out again!
Dallas??...I'm sooo jealous. I love the Big D!! We are also LOVING the Olympics!! Glad you had such a great time.
