WELCOME TO THE WORLD BABY GIRL!
So last Thurs I went in for my 38wk appointment and to my extreme disappointment I still wasn't dialated. I was soooo frustrated and thought I was going to go full term and have a very big baby! My Dr was willing to induce me a week early, but I had to be dialated for her to set up a day. Needless to say, I wasn't very happy! I have a really good friend in Idaho who is expecting in the middle of Oct and we had been talking about Castor Oil. She told me she had been reading up on it and that she was going to drink it for sure when she got a little further along. I really wanted to do the same thing, but was hesitant because I didn't know if my body was ready. I decided it was worth a try, even if it just got things started for me. So Sat. night I mixed some with some orange juice and gulped it down. That was at about 9:30 pm and lets just say that the contractions started at 1:30 am. I only got about 2 hours of sleep that night because they were pretty painful and about 2 minutes apart. I thought about calling the hospital, but talked myself out of it and somehow fell asleep for a little bit. The next morning I woke up and the contractions were still there. After a couple of hours I called the hospital and they told me I could come in and be monitored if I wanted to, but they could end up sending me home. So at about 10:30 I drove myself to the hospital. When I got there I was dialated to a 3 and the nurse told me they would watch me for an hour and if I have changed at all then I would be staying. So after an hour I was checked and still at a 3, but more effaced, so the nurse told me she wanted to watch me for a little while longer. An hour and a half later she came back, and by this time I was getting quite impatient and having a lot of pain (thanks to back labor) so I wanted to know if I was going to stay or go, and if I was going to stay I WANTED SOME MEDS! :) So she checked me and I was at a 4 and going to stay....YIPEE!!! (bring on that epidural!) So not long after getting to my room I was given my epidural and it was awesome. My body took a little bit longer with this baby, but I went from a 5 to a 9.5+ in about an hour and a half. From there all was smooth and she was born at 8:40. When I first saw her, I could tell that she was a little smaller than Brynlee had been. We think her and Brynlee look a lot alike at this point but Halle is just a smaller version. Brynlee had more chub on her cheeks and her thighs. She is such a sweet baby and overall a pretty good eater and sleeper. So far Brynlee has been such a good big sister and hasn't acted out much at all. She is loving spending time with her Mimi and we are loving having my mom here. I'm already scared to have them both by myself, but I'm sure I will figure it out. OUR BEAUTIFUL GIRLS!!(well we think so:))

So beautiful! I can't believe the castor oil worked! I'm so glad that it went smooth for you. I just love epidurals! I've been induced with both of my kids, so I really never have experienced bad labor, because I always got the epidural early. Hopefully that will continue. Enjoy your little newborn. I just love the sleepy/cuddly phase too. You'll be great with both the girls, especially when you're feeling back to normal. Best of luck with the recovery! Take care.
I'm so jealous of that smooth delivery story!
